Our company is currently seeking a Portuguese Speaking Senior Purchaser to join our team in Porto.

As a Senior Purchaser, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of our purchasing department. Your duties include analyzing stock levels, developing and reviewing purchase proposals, and actively monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal departmental performance. You will collaborate closely with a team of three purchasing professionals, with the primary focus on achieving just-in-time delivery, maintaining stock safety levels, and negotiating favorable purchasing terms.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily purchase processes alongside two colleagues, ensuring timely execution.
Develop purchase proposals for overseas suppliers based on 30-40 week forecast schedules.
Continuously improve purchasing procedures through proactive initiatives.
Propose and monitor KPIs, preparing quarterly reports for the Management Team.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Anticipate future challenges and proactively address potential issues in collaboration with relevant departments.
Conduct weekly meetings with all departments to address foreseeable challenges.
Required Skills:

Exceptional phone handling skills and active listening abilities.
Proactive approach to work with a commitment to improving performance.
Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP systems.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical sector.
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS).
Understanding of financial implications related to stock levels.
Experience in establishing and monitoring KPIs.
Proficiency in building Power BI reports.
